Kick off your Jamburgeree Saturday with the UT Health Athens Black-Eyed Pea 5K & Family Fun Run!
Whether you're chasing a personal best or simply looking for a fun way to start the day with family and friends, this annual event is a great way to celebrate one of Athens' favorite traditions.
The timed 5K begins at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Cain Center YMCA (214 Loyola Drive, Athens). The course starts and finishes at the Cain Center YMCA, winds through beautiful Cain Park, and follows scenic Robbins Road before returning to the finish line.
Not a 5K runner? No problem!
Our Family Fun Run is perfect for participants of all ages and fitness levels. This approximately one-mile route loops through Cain Park, making it a great way for families, children, walkers, and community members to be part of the excitement while promoting health, wellness, and hometown tradition.
After you cross the finish line, head to downtown Athens, and enjoy everything the 2026 Jamburgeree has to offer, including live entertainment, vendors, delicious food, family activities, and the celebration of Athens as the Home of the Hamburger and Black-Eyed Pea Capital of the World.
A special thank you to our Title Sponsor, UT Health Athens, along with UT Health EMS, the Athens Amateur Radio Club, our dedicated Chamber Ambassadors, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who helps make this event possible each year.
